We reached out to Kyle to share his transformation story with us because we believed it could motivate and inspire many people—and we were right! Dive into his story below, and always remember that with the right mindset and support, you could be the next one sharing your transformation journey!
Kyle has always been an athlete and active person since the 5th grade. He never imagined he’d find himself overweight and unhealthy one day. His passion was football, which he played from Pop Warner through junior high, high school, college, and even semi-pro. But once those days ended, he faced a common adult struggle: regaining his health while managing a busy lifestyle.
He realized it was becoming more challenging to stay fit as he got older, and doing it alone seemed even harder.
As he sought answers, he slowly gained weight, eventually reaching a size that alarmed him. In his semi-pro football days, he weighed 235 pounds of mostly muscle. Soon, he found himself at 272 pounds, with much of that muscle gone. His waistline expanded to nearly 40 inches. The wake-up call came when his friends joked about who was pregnant—him or his wife, who was about to give birth to their first child.
Feeling uncomfortable in his own skin, he started wearing 2x and 3x shirts to hide his size. Enough was enough. Determined to turn things around, he began going to the gym a few days a week, reminiscent of his past active lifestyle.
Within 6 to 8 months, he lost 15 pounds, putting him in the 255 to 260-pound range. Although happy with the progress, he was still far from his goal.
Things changed when his wife, Lindsay Jenkins, challenged him to join her on the Project 10 Challenge. After some initial reluctance, he started the challenge at 253 pounds with a 38-inch waist, aiming for 235 pounds and a 34-inch waist.
Through the Project 10 Challenge, Kyle dropped 44 pounds in his first 90 days, reducing his waist size to 32 inches. At 37 years old, he weighed 209 pounds, a size he hadn’t been since his freshman year in college.
Inspired by his success, Kyle began competing in Men’s Physique fitness competitions and became nationally qualified to compete for a Pro title. The beauty of the program is that it’s not just for weight loss; it also helps those looking to build muscle.
Over the past 24 months, Kyle has built 26 pounds of lean muscle, exploring other fitness areas. He studied Brazilian jiu-jitsu multiple times a week for a year and continued training for future competitions.
Throughout his athletic career, he had never experienced anything that transformed his and his family’s health so profoundly.
Kyle’s incredible journey should inspire us all. It proves that anyone reading this can achieve the same transformation. From his story, we can learn three key principles for starting your own journey:
