I often talk about ways to get and stay motivated to achieve lasting nutrition and fitness results. It’s crucial to keep yourself motivated while working towards your fitness goals. Also, as individuals who care about fitness, we should motivate others not just in fitness but in all aspects of life. A few encouraging words can make a huge difference.
We’ve all had moments where we feel down, like everything is going wrong. Then, out of the blue, someone says something kind, and it suddenly brightens our day. Even small gestures can have a big impact.
Do you have a friend who needs motivation to start working out? Or maybe they’re struggling with their weight or having trouble sticking to their workout routine? It’s important to step up and give them the encouragement they need.
One way to motivate others is simply to listen to their problems and offer help. If they need assistance with planning their exercise routine, lend a hand!
Listening can make a significant difference. Another way to motivate is to dream with them. Say something like, “Wouldn’t it be amazing if you finished in the top 10% in your next marathon?” Comments like these inspire people to envision their best selves and give them a sense of where they could be if they keep going.
Lastly, sharing or showing a motivational quote can be very impactful. The written word has amazing power. I use this tactic myself; when I’m struggling, I look at some of my favorite motivational quotes, which keeps me going. For example:
– “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretzky
– “You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – Christopher Columbus
– “Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.” – Les Brown
– “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” – Confucius
Quotes like these can really motivate others. If you see someone feeling down, lift them up. Encourage others because there is power in helping people. Encourage someone because it’s the right thing to do. We owe it to ourselves and them to be kind and offer a helping hand.
As Booker T. Washington said, “If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.”
